2023 CONWY SPORTS AWARDS

NOTIFICATION OF INDIVIDUAL CLUB MEMBER’S SUCCESS
Dear Club Members,

Last night I had the privilege to attend the annual Conwy Sports Awards held at the Venue Cymru which was attended by over 320 local sportsmen and women both young and old. Individual members of our club met with well deserved recognition of their achievements:

Peter Hamer was awarded the 2023 Service to Sport Award for being instrumental in the development and success of our Rowing section; CYC Deganwy Rowers.

Richard and Petra Haig were awarded the 2023 Special Achievement Award for completing their round the world voyage against all odds. 

And finally, lets not forget Freddie MacLaverty; Paula and Ian’s son who having been awarded the 2022 Young Sportsman of the Year Award again made it to the Finals this year. He is both a Welsh and British Laser Junior Squad member.

I hope you agree with me that this is a tremendous achievement by our club members. I am sure you will wish them well when you next see them.
